The Astor reveals modern new penthouses; See NYC's most beautiful new penthouse listings

The Astor dates back to the beginning of the 20th century, when it was commissioned by William Waldorf Astor. The Renaissance Revival-style design by Clinton & Russell (whose portfolio includes The Level Club elsewhere on the Upper West Side and The Broad Exchange Building downtown) was instrumental in the designation of the West End Collegiate Historic District Extension, and the limestone facade and ornamental details were carefully preserved and restored amidst its conversion to condos in 2015. However, three new luxury penthouses were designed to appeal to the contemporary buyer.
The penthouses were designed by Pembroke & Ives and BP Architects, and span four bedrooms, four and a half baths, and over 3,400 square feet. They open to expansive terraces overlooking historic Upper West Side views. Interiors feature gracious galleries, expansive proportions, and gas fireplaces in the living rooms. Kitchens come equipped with Calacatta Gold countertops and backsplash, modern finishes, and top-of-the-line appliances by Gaggenau, Miele, and Sub-Zero. Ultra-private primary suites feature large dressing areas and exquisitely finished baths.
