Overview of 411 West 44th Street

411 West 44th Street is a six story, 34 unit pre-war walk-up built in 1920 and organized as a cooperative in 1986. Unit 32-33 is a top floor combination of neighboring apartments completed in 2017, with northern, eastern and southern exposures.

Apartments commonly retain nine foot ceilings and hardwood floors, while windowed kitchens and multiple exposures recur in the layouts. Rear and upper floor homes look across neighboring gardens and rooftops toward the Midtown skyline, and in-unit washer dryers are permitted.

The common areas retain marble hallways, tiled floors and broad staircases. The building has security cameras, a voice intercom, storage and bike storage for rent subject to availability, and a superintendent who lives on the block.

Pets require board approval, and subletting is permitted after two years of occupancy. The co-op sits between Ninth and Tenth avenues, one avenue from the Theater District; the 42 Street Port Authority Bus Terminal station serves the A, C and E trains, and Hudson River Park is three avenues west.

Sales History

Price/Room (Est)

Why are we displaying the estimated price per room?

For some co-ops, instead of price per square foot, we use an estimate of the number of rooms for each sold apartment to chart price changes over time. This is because many co-op listings do not include square footage information, and this makes it challenging to calculate accurate square-foot averages.

By displaying the price per estimated room count, we are able to provide a more reliable and consistent metric for comparing sales in the building. While we hope that this gives you a clearer sense of price trends in the building, all data should be independently verified. All data provided are only estimates and should not be used to make any purchase or sale decision.
