The building at 440 West 57th Street opened in 1964 as a Holiday Inn, and was rechristened The Watson under new ownership in 2017. More recently, developer Yellowstone Real Estate Investments filed permits to convert it to residential use with 249 housing units.
A rooftop pool will remain, and new amenities will include a fitness center with indoor pool, a lounge, a game room, a pet playroom, and on-site parking. It is located in close proximity to Central Park, the Theater District, The Shops at Columbus Circle, popular dining in Midtown and Hell's Kitchen, and the 59th Street-Columbus Circle transportation hub.
