Watson Hotel slated for residential conversion
Jul 16, 2025In July 2025, developer Yellowstone Real Estate Investments filed permits to convert the Watson Hotel at the nexus of Hell's Kitchen and the Upper West Side to residential units. The hotel dates back to 1964, when it was constructed as a Holiday Inn, and reopened under new ownership as the Watson Hotel in 2017. It closed to guests during the pandemic and was later used to shelter migrants. The residential conversion will include 249 apartments and such amenities as an entertainment lounge, a game room, a pet play area, a fitness center, indoor and outdoor swimming pools, and a cellar-level parking garage.
