Overview of Fifth Avenue Tower at 445 Fifth Avenue

Fifth Avenue Tower is a 33-story, 182-unit condominium located in Midtown Manhattan, completed in 1986. Fifth Avenue Tower is a full-service high-rise is located at 445 Fifth Avenue, steps from Bryant Park, Grand Central Terminal, and the 42nd Street subway. The building offers 24-hour doorman and concierge service, a new gym, a laundry room, resident storage and bike storage in the basement, and a large rooftop terrace.

Designed by Emery Roth & Sons, a prominent architectural firm specializing in office buildings, the structure reflects an office-building aesthetic with its bronze-colored glass façade. This design complements the nearby Republic Bank tower across the avenue and pays homage to the architectural influence of the Seagram Building. Originally intended as part of a pair of nearly twin towers south of the New York Public Library, the building's design reflects a blend of residential and commercial purposes, as seen in its commercial base and setback residential tower.

The lower floors feature broad light-colored arches intended to elevate the retail space, though these elements do not visually connect with other parts of the building or nearby structures. Many apartments in the tower offer stunning Midtown vistas, and some include fireplaces and rare private outdoor spaces. Residents enjoy a sundeck, a fully equipped rooftop gym, rooftop gardens, a playroom, bicycle storage, and additional storage spaces. However, the building does not include a garage or a traditional health club.

The location is exceptional, situated at the heart of Midtown Manhattan with Bryant Park and the New York Public Library at its doorstep. Residents have easy access to Grand Central Station, Times Square subway lines, the United Nations, and major business institutions. The vibrant surroundings also include Fifth Avenue's luxury shopping, Broadway theaters, and renowned restaurants.

Broker & Buyer Comments

This "striking" 56-story Michael Graves-designed tower offers "prime Fifth Avenue positioning" with a "distinguished" mix of retail, extended-stay residences, and luxury condos. The "impeccably staffed" building features "very nice doormen" and a "great super," while its "convenient" location provides "easy access" to multiple subway lines and is "walking distance to Grand Central." The "bustling" neighborhood offers "plenty of shops and restaurants," plus proximity to "scenic Bryant Park" and the NY Public Library. While there's "no health club," the "impressive" limestone-and-brick facade makes this "tall, slender" skyscraper a "standout in the south-midtown Manhattan skyline."
