Murray Hill House, 132 East 35th Street: Review and Ratings

at The Southwest corner of Lexington Avenue View Full Building Profile

Carter Horsley
Review of 132 East 35th Street by Carter Horsley

This large, red brick apartment building offers the charm of Murray Hill and the convenience of excellent public transportation. With its charming sidestreets with their attractive townhouses, clubs, and churches, Murray Hill is a surprisingly quiet neighborhood in the center of midtown, just a few minutes walk away from Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, two of the city's most important Beaux Arts structures, and the Empire State Building. Built in 1967, it has an impressive entrance and lobby and was converted to a cooperative in 1983. The 18-story building has 187 units, many with balconies, some of which are shared.
