Carter Horsley's Building Review Carter Horsley

Carter's Review

This modest 16-story, midblock condominium apartment building at 143 East 34th Street has a convenient Murray Hill location on one of midtown's major cross-streets.

It is across the street from a large hotel and fitness center and three blocks from the Empire State Building.

The building has a polished orange granite entrance surround and discrete air-conditioners, but no sidewalk landscaping and no garage.

There is considerable traffic in this area which is a few blocks south and west of the Queens Midtown Tunnel. There is a subway station nearby at Park Avenue and 33rd Street and there is excellent bus service.

Erected in 2002, this building has only 23 apartments and full-floor penthouses have locked elevator access, wood-burning fireplaces and whirlpool tubs and separate stall showers.

There are some balconies and the apartments have hook-ups for washers and dryers.
