57 Bond Street is a six story, ten residence NoHo condominium completed in 2002 on the former site of a gas station at Bond Street and the Bowery. Designed by Meltzer/Mandl Architects and developed by Kenneth Horn of Alchemy Properties, the building has a curved Bond Street façade composed of a black stone base and silver and blue aluminum composite panels. Columns at the base echo those of the building across the street.
The building is arranged with two residences per floor. Its loft style homes range from 1,470 to 2,512 square feet, with high ceilings, broad expanses of windows and private balconies or terraces. Residence 2W is organized around approximately 2,125 square feet of interior space and a setback terrace of roughly 1,045 square feet, with the main living area opening directly outdoors. A shared roof deck measures about 1,000 square feet, and each residence has approximately 100 square feet of basement storage.
A virtual doorman and full time superintendent provide the building's residential services. At the southwest corner of Bond Street and the Bowery, 57 Bond faces the former Bouwerie Lane Theater and sits among Bond Street's cobblestones and cast iron architecture. Lafayette Street is one block west, Broadway is two blocks west and Cooper Union is five blocks north.
