Bleecker Tower, designed in 1891 and converted to a cooperative in 1987, is a prime example of 19th century architecture and site of the largest US bank robbery. Bleecker Tower was designed by Stephen Decatur Hatch for the Manhattan Savings Institution in 1891, and was converted to a 15-unit cooperative in 1987. This is one of the city's finest surviving examples of 19th century architecture, and is famous for the largest bank robbery in US history to date.
