Overview of The Berkeley at 21 Plaza Street West

The Berkeley is a 1941 pre-war co-op on Plaza Street West in Park Slope, facing Grand Army Plaza at Prospect Park’s northern entrance. The six story building contains 74 apartments, while two shared roof decks overlook the plaza arch, Prospect Park, the Manhattan skyline and New York Harbor.

Apartments commonly open through proper entry foyers into sunken living rooms, with original hardwood floors, arched openings and generous closet space. Windowed kitchens and bathrooms recur, and corner and upper floor homes often have multiple exposures with views over the plaza, park, neighborhood treetops and skyline.

The building has a part time doorman, a live-in superintendent, shared laundry, bicycle storage, resident storage and landscaped entrance gardens. Indoor parking and storage are subject to waitlists, and pets are permitted.

Prospect Park and the Grand Army Plaza Greenmarket are just outside, with the Brooklyn Public Library’s Central Library, Brooklyn Museum and Brooklyn Botanic Garden along the surrounding park and Eastern Parkway corridor. Grand Army Plaza station serves the 2 and 3 trains, while the B and Q stop at Seventh Avenue on Flatbush Avenue.

Sales History

Price/Room (Est)

Why are we displaying the estimated price per room?

For some co-ops, instead of price per square foot, we use an estimate of the number of rooms for each sold apartment to chart price changes over time. This is because many co-op listings do not include square footage information, and this makes it challenging to calculate accurate square-foot averages.

By displaying the price per estimated room count, we are able to provide a more reliable and consistent metric for comparing sales in the building. While we hope that this gives you a clearer sense of price trends in the building, all data should be independently verified. All data provided are only estimates and should not be used to make any purchase or sale decision.
