Designed by George F. Pelham and completed in 1936, 411 West End Avenue is a 20 story Art Deco tower with 102 apartments that was converted to a co-op in 1985. The building's exterior features bold stainless steel protruding elements and consistent fenestration, while the canopied entrance leads to a step down lobby adorned with classic Art Deco details. Located at the corner of 80th Street and West End Avenue, the building sits one block from Riverside Park and the Hudson River, and is steps from Zabar's, Fairway, Citarella, and the 79th Street subway station.
Apartments include original pre-war features such as corner windows, hardwood floors with oak and mahogany parquet (often with maple inlay), beamed ceilings, original hardware and doors, and abundant closet space. Many units feature sunken living rooms, windowed kitchens and bathrooms, and sweeping views of the Hudson River, Riverside Park, or city streetscapes. Some larger residences include wood burning fireplaces with marble mantles, formal dining rooms, and private terraces with river views. The building offers a mix of layouts from one bedrooms to sprawling four bedroom homes, including some duplexes.
The full service building provides a 24 hour doorman, live-in resident manager, storage room (for an additional fee), bike room, and laundry facilities. The building permits pets, pied-à-terre ownership and in-unit washer/dryers with board approval.

For some co-ops, instead of price per square foot, we use an estimate of the number of rooms for each sold apartment to chart price changes over time. This is because many co-op listings do not include square footage information, and this makes it challenging to calculate accurate square-foot averages.
By displaying the price per estimated room count, we are able to provide a more reliable and consistent metric for comparing sales in the building. While we hope that this gives you a clearer sense of price trends in the building, all data should be independently verified. All data provided are only estimates and should not be used to make any purchase or sale decision.
