Overview of The Manhasset at 300 West 109th Street

The Manhasset is a landmarked Beaux Arts co-op at 300 West 109th Street, with 137 apartments across 11 stories. Joseph Wolf designed the original eight story building in 1899, and Janes & Leo added three stories and the copper trimmed French mansard roof that completed its present form in 1904.

Many apartments retain ceilings of roughly 10 feet, with some reaching 11 feet, along with hardwood floors, original moldings, arched passages and bay windows. Windowed kitchens recur, while larger layouts often use long entrance galleries to separate living areas from bedroom wings. Corner homes bring multiple exposures and open views, and in-unit washer dryers are permitted with board approval.

A 2001 restoration renewed the large lobby and introduced a video intercom system. The building has a part time doorman, live-in superintendent, overnight security, resident storage, central air conditioning, laundry and bicycle rooms, as well as a rooftop terrace. Pets are permitted.

Riverside Park is at the western end of the block, while Central Park is four blocks east. Columbia University, Barnard College and the Cathedral of St. John the Divine are several blocks north, and the 1 train stops at the Cathedral Parkway 110th Street station on Broadway.

Price/Room (Est)

Why are we displaying the estimated price per room?

For some co-ops, instead of price per square foot, we use an estimate of the number of rooms for each sold apartment to chart price changes over time. This is because many co-op listings do not include square footage information, and this makes it challenging to calculate accurate square-foot averages.

By displaying the price per estimated room count, we are able to provide a more reliable and consistent metric for comparing sales in the building. While we hope that this gives you a clearer sense of price trends in the building, all data should be independently verified. All data provided are only estimates and should not be used to make any purchase or sale decision.
