This handsome, 7-story building at 223 North 8^th Street in Williamsburg, Brooklyn, was erected in 2016 and has 96 rental apartments.  It is known as The Berkley.

It was developed by Largo Investments, which is the developer with JDS also of the Fitzroy, a very handsome, 10-story apartment building with a largely copper façade and 11-foot-ceilings at 514 West 24^th Street.

It is one and a half blocks from the Bedford Station of the L subway line.

Bottom Line

This solid, mid-block rental building in Williamsburg has small apartments with balconies and open kitchens but many amenities. 

Description

This brown-brick building has three protruding window bays without balconies and side setbacks at the 7^th floor.  The building has a glass railing instead of a cornice, some thin and tall window strips, and sidewalk landscaping.

Amenities

The building has a doorman, a concierge, a live-in superintendent, a two-story fitness center, a landscaped courtyard  with a fire pit, a garage, a laundry, a package room, a roof deck with barbecue stations and outdoor showers, a lobby lounge, a garden, community recreational facilities and storage.

Apartments

All units have Bosch washers and dryers, triple-pane windows, wide plank walnut floors, roller shades and central air-conditioning.

Kitchens have Bertazzoni and Bosch appliances, a Fisher & Paykel refrigerator with icemaker, and charcoal Caesarstone countertops.

Bathrooms have Toto toilets and artic white Caesarstone countertops.

Many apartments have balconies with glass railings.

Studio apartments has 17-foot-long living room, balconies and open kitchens.

One-bedroom apartments have large entry foyers and open kitchens that lead to 17-foot-long living room rooms with balconies.

Two-bedroom apartments have wide entry foyers with open kitchens that lead to a 15-foot-long living room flanked by bedrooms, one of which is the master bedroom with a balcony and a very long walk-through closet.
