between East 81st Street & East 82nd Street View Full Building Profile

Carter Horsley
Review of 45 East End Avenue by Carter Horsley

This 20-story building was erected in 1951 and converted to a cooperative in 1981. It has 150 apartments. One of the more attractive buildings along East End Avenue, the red-brick building has many balconies and some terraces as well as a doorman and a concierge. Just a couple blocks south of Carl Schurz Park, it is also very close to some of the city's finest private schools and only two blocks away from cross-town buses on 79th Street where there is also an southbound entrance to the FDR Drive. Because of the convenience and charm of the waterfront Carl Schurz Park and the quiet of the area, this neighborhood is very popular with families.
