Designed by architect William J. Hohauser, River Edge House was noted by architectural historians Robert A. M. Its location provides convenient access to the southbound entrance of the FDR Drive at 79th Street, just two blocks away, and Carl Schurz Park, a popular neighborhood amenity, three blocks to the north.
