Gallery House is a 20-story apartment building erected in 1962 at 77 West 55th Street on the northeast corner at the Avenue of the Americas.
It was designed by Horace Ginsbern & Associates.
The building has a 24-hour doorman and a concierge and no balconies but a few terraces. It also has a roofdeck, and a garage and its avenue frontage is occupied by E. Klein's, a supermarket. It is pet friendly and has storage facilities.
It has some angle corner windows, sidewalk landscaping and an entrance marquee.
It has 186 condominium apartments.
Its most famous resident was Paul Desmond, the great alto saxophonist who was a member of the Dave Brubeck Quartet. He died in 1977.
The building is close to the Museum of Modern Art, Central Park and the area has good bus service.
