Overview of 160 Columbia Heights

160 Columbia Heights is an 11 story, 80 unit Art Deco cooperative built in 1937 directly on the Brooklyn Heights Promenade. Its Art Moderne corner windows and Art Deco lobby, finished with an inlaid terrazzo floor and fireplace, reinforce the building's period character.

Many apartments retain herringbone floors, high or beamed ceilings, broad entrance foyers, oversized casement windows, and sunken living rooms. Western and corner exposures overlook New York Harbor, Lower Manhattan, the Statue of Liberty, and Brooklyn Bridge Park, while bay windows give several layouts especially broad waterfront views. Windowed kitchens and pass through openings also recur.

The penthouse departs from the building's more traditional single level plans, using a duplex arrangement with a wraparound terrace oriented south and east over the harbor. Building services include doorman service, a video intercom, a live-in superintendent, a central laundry room, resident storage, and a bike room.

Pets are permitted, while pieds-à-terre require board approval. The building is in the Brooklyn Heights Historic District, with Brooklyn Bridge Park immediately below the Promenade and the brownstones of Columbia Heights on the inland side; Montague Street and DUMBO are also close by.

Sales History

Price/Room (Est)

Why are we displaying the estimated price per room?

For some co-ops, instead of price per square foot, we use an estimate of the number of rooms for each sold apartment to chart price changes over time. This is because many co-op listings do not include square footage information, and this makes it challenging to calculate accurate square-foot averages.

By displaying the price per estimated room count, we are able to provide a more reliable and consistent metric for comparing sales in the building. While we hope that this gives you a clearer sense of price trends in the building, all data should be independently verified. All data provided are only estimates and should not be used to make any purchase or sale decision.
