Overview of 451 Clinton Avenue

451 Clinton Avenue is a six story, 31 apartment pre-war co-op built in 1930 on Mansion Row in the Clinton Hill Historic District. The property also has an entrance at 444 Waverly Avenue, with a communal patio and elevated garden on the Waverly side. Its red brick Clinton Avenue façade is marked by a limestone entrance surround, ground floor white shutters, horizontal stringcourses, fenced sidewalk lawns and a central fire escape.

Many apartments retain separate entry foyers, long living and dining rooms, windowed kitchens and exposures toward both Clinton Avenue and the garden. Hardwood floors and high ceilings recur in the interiors, while renovated layouts often open the kitchen to the main living space. The communal garden is joined by central laundry, bike storage, an intercom and a live-in superintendent. Cats are permitted, but dogs are not.

The C train stops at Clinton-Washington Avenues on Fulton Street, while the G train's station of the same name is on Lafayette Avenue. The surrounding historic district is lined with 19th century brownstones and mansions; Fort Greene Park is to the northwest, while Brooklyn Academy of Music, Atlantic Terminal and Barclays Center are southwest toward Downtown Brooklyn.

Sales History

Price/Room (Est)

Why are we displaying the estimated price per room?

For some co-ops, instead of price per square foot, we use an estimate of the number of rooms for each sold apartment to chart price changes over time. This is because many co-op listings do not include square footage information, and this makes it challenging to calculate accurate square-foot averages.

By displaying the price per estimated room count, we are able to provide a more reliable and consistent metric for comparing sales in the building. While we hope that this gives you a clearer sense of price trends in the building, all data should be independently verified. All data provided are only estimates and should not be used to make any purchase or sale decision.
