ULURP begins for new Downtown Brooklyn development
Jan 12, 2026In late 2025, Alloy Development announced its plans for 240 Nassau Street, the former Boys and Girls Club building in Downtown Brooklyn it bought in 2023. The developer seeks a rezoning that will allow it to construct three new high-rises containing a total of 1,500 apartments (305 of which would be affordable, 95 of which would be set aside for seniors), a new community center to replace the Boys and Girls Club building, a cultural center to serve as an expansion of the Culture Museum of African Art's Eric Edwards Collection, a new school, and new retail and community space. Public review is expected to begin in early 2026, and construction could begin in 2027 if all goes well.
