In late 2025, Alloy Development announced its plans for 240 Nassau Street, the former Boys and Girls Club building in Downtown Brooklyn it bought in 2023. The developer seeks a rezoning that will allow it to construct three new high-rises containing a total of 1,500 apartments (305 of which would be affordable, 95 of which would be set aside for seniors), a new community center to replace the Boys and Girls Club building, a cultural center to serve as an expansion of the Culture Museum of African Art's Eric Edwards Collection, a new school, and new retail and community space. Public review is expected to begin in early 2026, and construction could begin in 2027 if all goes well.
