The Rocklyn is a 40-story rental building located at 20 Rockwell Place in Downtown Brooklyn and developed by Rabsky Group. The design by Fischer Rasmussen Whitefield Architects makes a striking addition to the Downtown Brooklyn skyline. The apartments inside comprise 342 studios, 492 one-bedrooms, and 264 two-bedrooms. As construction began ahead of the end of the 421a tax abatement program, 30 percent of units have been earmarked for affordabile housing. All units feature interiors by Durukan Design, floor-to-ceiling windows, Europan white oak floors, kitchens with Caesarstone countertops and stainless steel appliances, baths with backlit LED mirrors, and in-unit washers and dryers. An array of amenities includes a fitness center with adjacent yoga/dance studio, a spa with sauna, a bowling alley, a sports simulator, a screening room, a karaoke lounge, a business center with coworking space and private offices, a cafe and lounge, a party room, a children's playroom, and a rooftop terrace with BBQ grills and panoramic city views. The building also houses 250 parking spaces and 150 storage units. The Rocklyn is in a central Downtown Brooklyn location near Fort Greene Park, Brooklyn Academy of Music, City Point dining and shopping, Brooklyn Paramount, and gourmet supermarkets like Trader Joe's and Whole Foods. Public transportation options include the Dekalb Avenue B/Q/R, the Nevins Street 2/3/4/5, and the Fulton Street G train, allowing for an easy commute anywhere in Manhattan and Brooklyn.
