This 56-story rental apartment building was erected in 2005 across from the Woolworth building and overlooks City Hall Park.
The tower features luxury amenities, spectacular views, and a lavishly designed lobby with high-end materials and decorative elements.
Barclay Tower is a 56-story rental building completed in 2005 by Glenwood Management, one of New York City's largest luxury rental developers. Designed by Costas Kondylis, the 441-unit tower occupies a midblock site directly across from the Woolworth Building and overlooks City Hall Park. The location provides convenient access to TriBeCa, the Financial District, and sits a few blocks north and east of the World Trade Center site.
The building's public spaces were designed by John Saladino and feature a three story colonnade entrance with limestone columns, walls, and statuary Roman fenestrated grilles, along with two Rojo Alicante marble fountains and handcarved Italian stone gargoyles. The barrel-vaulted lobby showcases Aquamarina marble floors with mosaic stone borders, French chiseled limestone walls, and a central seating area crafted from Japanese Tamo and teak.
Residents have access to a 24-hour doorman, fitness center, pool, lounge, yoga and pilates studio, rooftop terrace, storage facilities, and maid and dry-cleaning services. Apartments typically include stainless steel appliances, granite countertops, marble bathrooms, and in-unit washer/dryers. Upper floor units, particularly those on the north side, offer views of the New York skyline and Hudson River with natural light and sunset exposures.
The building is within walking distance of Whole Foods, Brookfield Place, and parks along the Hudson River including Battery Park. Multiple subway lines are accessible at nearby Fulton Street and World Trade Center stations. In 2007, Larry Silverstein announced plans for a Robert A. M. Stern designed mixed use tower west of the Woolworth Building, which may partially obstruct some northern views from Barclay Tower.

This "luxe" downtown tower offers "spacious" apartments with "hotel-like amenities" including a "well-equipped gym," pool and resident lounge. "Exceptional" staff provide "white-glove service," while the "prime Tribeca location" puts "every subway line" within reach. While "upper floor units charm" with "spectacular views," lower-floor residents warn of "significant street noise" and construction sounds. "Worth considering" if you can "snag a high floor," though some note the "dated finishes" in common areas. P.S. "excellent" doormen make this "feel like home."
