The Lara is a 30 story rental building at 113 Nassau Street, completed in 2012 by developer Ann/Nassau Realty LLC and designed by SLCE. The mid block tower contains 168 apartments above five floors of commercial space, and stands out architecturally for its dramatic angled top featuring corner balconies on seven upper floors. The mostly glass façade provides views of City Hall Park, the Woolworth Building, 8 Spruce Street, and the World Trade Center. The site has historical significance as the original home of The New York Times, which published its first issue here in 1851.
Apartments feature dark hardwood strip flooring with walnut finish, German manufactured kitchens with soft close cabinetry and built in organizer trays, and high end appliances including Liebherr or Blomberg refrigerators, Bertazzoni professional style ranges and microwaves, and Blomberg dishwashers with garbage disposals. Kitchens have White Nano glass countertops and backsplashes. Bathrooms are outfitted with Duravit basins, Kohler tubs, Grohe faucets, and porcelain tile.
