The Beacon, 20 Beacon Way

No fee rental located in Jersey City

Description of The Beacon at 20 Beacon Way

In 2016, The Jersey City Medical Center, built between 1928 and 1941, was reborn as a one-of-a-kind rental complex. Several high-rise towers perch atop the Palisades bluff and offer sweeping skyline views. Spectacular Art Deco motifs adorn both building exteriors and spacious, high-ceiled common areas. Shared amenities include round-the-clock concierge, various lounges and entertainment space, a fitness center with an indoor pool and spa, bike storage with a bike repair station, and three acres of green space with grilling stations, dog parks, and a playground. The Beacon offers on-site dining and shuttle service to the residents, while the shopping district and the PATH train station at Journal Square sit within walking distance.

Carter Horsley's Review of The Beacon

Carter Horsley's Building Review
"The attractive, 6-building complex known collectively as Beacon was erected as the Jersey City Medical Center beginning in 1928 and was completed in 1941 as the third largest healthcare facility in the world.

The buildings stood “empty and sorry-looking on a rise near Journal Square that overlooks Manhattan and the Statue of Liberty,” according to a February 27, 2005 article by Antoinette Martin in The New York Times announcing that work would begin in a few months “on a $350 million renovation that will create 1,200 apartments, both rental and condos, along with a central courtyard featuring a restaurant, a grocery store, and shops.”" Read Carter's Full Review
