141 East 72nd Street: Review and Ratings

between Lexington Avenue & Third Avenue View Full Building Profile

Review of 141 East 72nd Street by Carter Horsley

This handsome, brown-brick, 16-story building was erected as a cooperative in 1924 and has only one apartment per floor.

The building, which has a three-story limestone base with a broken pediment entrance, has an attractive lobby with a concierge. The top floor has nice limestone decoration and the building has sidewalk landscaping.

It is convenient to some cultural institutions and many world-famous boutiques along Madison Avenue as well as many restaurants and neighborhood shopping along Lexington and Third Avenues. Although the nearest subway station is several blocks away, there is good bus service on this major cross-town street.
