In October 2025, developer Closer Properties paid $63 million for five low-rise Upper East Side buildings at 150-154 East 79th Street, 1131 Lexington Avenue, and 1135 Lexington Avenue in preparation to build a condo on the site. Demolition is expected to begin in early 2026, and the project will include retail space on the ground floor.
