Carter Horsley's Building Review Carter Horsley
Dec 23, 2011

Carter's Review

This attractive, red-brick apartment building was erected in 1926 and converted to a cooperative in 1953.

The 10-story building has 31 units.

The building has a canopied entrance but no doorman. It has a two-step-up entrance and inconsistent fenestration. It has a nice broken pediment entrance surround, three bandcourses and an interrupted balustraded roofline and nice window lintels.

This is one of the more desirable areas of the Upper East Side as it is convenient to boutiques and restaurants on Lexington, Third and Madison Avenues. Lenox Hill Hospital is two blocks to the north as is a subway station on Lexington Avenue. There is good cross-town bus service on 72nd Street.
