Overview of 430 East 77th Street

430 East 77th Street is a six story, 36 unit post-war co-op completed in 1971 on a tree lined Lenox Hill block. Private outdoor space shapes several layouts: multiple studios open through floor-to-ceiling sliding glass doors to balconies facing East 77th Street, while ground floor homes have private backyards.

Upper floor studios have skylights and open layouts, with some corner exposures capturing skyline views. Rear facing homes receive southern light over a private yard, and split layouts, exposed brick and generous storage recur among the larger residences.

The brick façade, lobby and hallways have been renovated. The building has a video intercom, shared laundry, bike storage and a live-in superintendent, with a parking garage directly next door. Pets are not permitted.

John Jay Park, including its outdoor pool, is two blocks east, and the East River Esplanade runs along the waterfront beyond it. The Q train stops at 72nd Street and Second Avenue, while the 6 stops at 77th Street and Lexington Avenue.

Sales History

Price/Room (Est)

Why are we displaying the estimated price per room?

For some co-ops, instead of price per square foot, we use an estimate of the number of rooms for each sold apartment to chart price changes over time. This is because many co-op listings do not include square footage information, and this makes it challenging to calculate accurate square-foot averages.

By displaying the price per estimated room count, we are able to provide a more reliable and consistent metric for comparing sales in the building. While we hope that this gives you a clearer sense of price trends in the building, all data should be independently verified. All data provided are only estimates and should not be used to make any purchase or sale decision.
