Developer Brookland Capital is planning to build a row of five multi-family townhouses with seven units each at 650 Madison Street in Bedford-Stuyvesant, Brooklyn. Headed by developer and co-founder, Boaz Gilad, Brookland filed several permits with the city's Department of Buildings this past February under the pseudonym Elavations Holdings LLC. The Real Deal, who released news of the permits, noted that the project's architect of record will be ARC Architecture and Design Studio.
Brookland has a penchant for developing multi-family units in all parts of Brooklyn, and this neglected property seems like the perfect fit for the job. The buildings at the lots spanning 654-658 Madison were vacant for quite some time, and have already been demolished in preparation for construction. At 652 and 650 Madison, a pair of scrappy single-family homes have also undergone uprooting. A single-unit home at 650 Madison remains, encompassing 2,400 square feet over two-stories. Originally built in 1899, the project will be soon demolished but, in a way, live on as the project's new address.

According to the plans filed, each of the 5 four-story townhouses will hold 7 units and will encompass roughly 5,000 square feet of space. The townhouses will probably be made up of one- and two-bedroom condos, though layout specifics have yet to be released. Also, there will be indoor and outdoor recreation space and a roof deck to compete with the amenities standard to boutique developments in brownstone Brooklyn.

The sole rendering published by Arc Design Studio shows that each townhouse will sport a dual colored facade large windows and a ground-level entryway(no stoops here). The facades will alternate providing new visual interest to the block.
