Morris Adjmi Architects’ tallest building to date, 30E31, is taking to the sky. While the firm is up to its cornices in projects around the city, most of which are mid-rises in lower Manhattan and brownstone Brooklyn, 30E31 will rise nearly 500-feet high in NoMad. The project is being brought to market by Erik Ekstein and Pinnacle Realty of New York and will have one- and two-bedroom homes in addition to penthouse residences.Pricing has yet to be revealed but sales are expected to officially launch this fall.
The recently-launched teaser website proclaims,” Morris Adjmi’s visionary tower paints an atmosphere beyond the façade. One that enriches lives by harnessing high design that elegantly and intuitively answers the individual needs and tastes of those who call it home.”

Paperwork filed with the city’s buildings department says the building will have 41 apartments spread across 42 floors. As you can assume, most units will be full floor spreads, many of which will have enviable views across the city. Shared amenities will be grounded on lower floors and will include a fitness room, resident’s lounge, storage space, a laundry room, and bike storage. Also listed in the floor schedule is a banquet hall on the first floor.
A recent pass by the site shows that workers are beginning to frame the eighth floor. The building uses unused development rights from the nearby Madison Avenue Baptist Church, which explains the tower's divine ability to soar from a narrow mid-block site. The building also takes some design cues from the church using structural perimeter columns to provide open interiors, like a cathedral. The columns evolve into a Gothic motif near the building's crown that should make the project a recognizable marker on the skyline.
