According to its website, Hello Living develops every building with the goal of “[transforming] underdeveloped neighborhoods into vibrant communities.” Having brought its buildings to Prospect Heights, Crown Heights, and Prospect Lefferts Gardens, it turns its attention to Bedford-Stuyvesant with Hello Fulton, a 10-story building at 1520 Fulton Street. Founder and CEO Eli Karp bought the property for $7.3 million in March 2015 and had the Sunoco gas station on the site demolished. Now construction is nearing completion, and the building is getting ready to launch leasing.
The 50 apartments will mostly be two-bedrooms. All units will have open layouts, energy-efficient triple-paned windows and doors, and private elevators that open directly into the apartments. Many homes will have private balconies. Prices are not yet available, but CityRealty data shows that the median price for Bedford-Stuyvesant two-bedroom rentals is $2,926/month.
Amenities at Hello Fulton will include a gym, landscaped roof terrace, and 25 parking spaces. The building will have about 10,000 square feet of retail on the ground floor, and residents will appreciate having a supermarket one block away. It is directly next door to the creatively expanded building at 1516 Fulton Street and just down the block from the Kingston-Throop Avs. subway station.
