Union BK is ready for move-ins: Eco-oriented Williamsburg condos with 421a tax abatement

Renderings of Union BK via Workshop DA Renderings of Union BK via Workshop DA
After several years of slow construction, work on Union BK is coming to a close as the 19-unit condo is now open for immediate occupancy. The sustainability-oriented development is situated at 305 Union Avenue, between South 2nd and 1st Streets in East Williamsburg. Michael Schlegel's EcoRise Development is behind the project and acquired a $12 million construction loan in 2017.

A standout feature of Union Bk's design is its facade that will be infused with a uniquely-patterned vertical garden whose foliage will change colors with the seasons. The vegetation will also filter sunlight, help regulate indoor temperatures, and distinguish the building from all the new construction mushrooming across the neighborhood. Garrison Architects and Workshop DA are the building's designers.
