The top townhouse contract from December 12-18, 2022 was signed for 232 West 15th Street, which has also been known as "the Pool House" for one of its most memorable features, a dramatic saltwater pool at the garden level. Owner Evelyn McMurray Van-Zeller inherited the house from her brother following his death in 1995. It has been on and off the market since 2008; in that time, some of the antiquities and medieval weaponry have been removed and it has gone from brokerage to brokerage with the price fluctuating. It ultimately entered contract with an asking price of $9,750,000, or $1.295 million below the original asking price of $10,995,000. The buyer has not been identified.
On the apartment side, cooperatives have experienced a drop in popularity in recent months, but the penthouse in a Park Avenue cooperative took the top contract of the past week: #PHAB, the triplex penthouse at the top of 605 Park Avenue entered contract with a $15,000,000 ask.
