As of this writing, there are approximately CityRealty listings show 4,250 apartments for rent in Manhattan at a median asking price of $4,184/month. The island's more than 1,500 available one-bedrooms are priced at a median of $3,994/month and two bedrooms come in at $5,819/month.

As the weather begins to cool, the red-hot rental market has begun to stabilize as factors like undetermined return-to-office dates and overly-ambitious landlord rent increases could be responsible for a slowdown. Even still, listing price increases outpaced decreases at a 2:1 ratio. A full, sortable list of newly discounted rentals can be found below. And because the things to do in New York are a powerful lure for renters, we also present a selection of exciting events taking place in the city this weekend and this fall.
