February is the shortest (and often coldest!) month of the year, but it was a hot one in the New York real estate market as far as celebrities are concerned. Some of today's bold-faced names are making moves in hot new buildings, while others prove that there's nothing like a rich history or a famous name to drum up interest in a home.

Karlie Kloss

211-Elizabeth-Street-1 211 Elizabeth Street via Compass
Following their wedding last October, supermodel Karlie Kloss and husband Josh Kushner (not pictured) have put their Nolita apartment on the market. The power couple's next move is unclear, but we do know that the building will not lack for star power upon their departure: The Post notes that in one of the building's first transactions, Billy Joel bought an apartment for his daughter.

From the listing:
Designed by the celebrated and influential Roman and Williams, this stunning home is an extraordinary offering rich in character details and painstakingly finished in the highest quality materials and craftsmanship. A stunning 28-foot east-facing living room is thoughtfully divided into three distinct sitting areas.

The focal point of this room is a dramatic custom flamed granite wood burning fireplace. Throughout the home, walnut flooring is a laid in herringbone pattern and complemented by meticulous millwork. French doors lead seamlessly to an airy master suite, which enjoys bountiful sunlight.

A luxurious master bathroom with rare dual exposures is clad in Calacatta Gold marble slabs trimmed in brass fixtures and accompanied by a glass walled shower and a standalone deep soaking tub. Two walk-in closets and a large linen closet provide ample storage. A second bedroom is currently utilized as a media room and features custom built ins with a walk-in closet.
211 Elizabeth Street has 2 available listings from $2.15M.

Mariska Hargitay

45-West-84th-Street-1 45 West 84th Street via Corcoran
About six years after purchasing their Upper West Side townhouse for $10.7 million, "Law and Order: SVU" star Mariska Hargitay and husband Peter Hermann put it on the market for $10.75 million last fall, citing changing family needs. The beautifully decorated home entered contract for $9.75 million earlier in February.

From the listing:
Perfectly situated on one of the prettiest tree-lined west 80’s park blocks, this handsome 6 floor elevator townhouse is noteworthy for its complete and meticulous renovation and expansive 6000sf+ layout. The truly breathtaking renovation included the installation of beautiful floor to ceiling rear casement windows creating double height kitchen and dining rooms, which overlook a landscaped rear garden with built-in BBQ.

The double parlor floor accessed via an elegant brownstone stoop includes soaring ceilings, a gas fireplace and a rear dining room which overlooks the garden. The garden level with separate entrance under the stoop features a delightful and sunny eat-in kitchen with double height ceiling and an adjacent den/media room. A powder room completes each floor. 20-North-Moore-Street-1 20 North Moore Street via Douglas Elliman
It is not known which unit power couple John F. Kennedy Jr. and Carolyn Bessette lived in for the three years they called Tribeca home, but we do know that mourners placed flowers, candles, and photos in front of the building after their deaths.
