Before One57 and its ilk would rise to remake the Manhattan skyline and establish Billionaires' Row, residents of The Park Imperial enjoyed unobstructed views of Central Park to the north. As the new buildings got in the way of them, CityRealty data shows that prices in the building started to drop. Indeed, the full 64th floor was listed for $39 million in 2015 (h/t Olshan Realty market report); since then, it has been on and off the market and ultimately entered contract with an asking price of $14,500,000. This is 62.8% below the original asking price, but was nevertheless good enough for Manhattan's top contract from February 27-March 5, 2023.

The current buyer and seller were not identified, but Crain's New York Business notes that the apartment was once owned by Jacob Alexander, the former CEO of Comverse Technologies who was charged with fraud related to his company's stock. Mr. Alexander sold the apartment for $35.2 million in 2010 (in other words, in The Park Imperial's heyday) to satisfy a settlement agreement with the Securities and Exchange Commission.

Further downtown, actress/producer Mindy Kaling found a buyer for her Nolita loft less than six months after listing it for $2,750,000 in September 2022. The New York Post announced the contract and noted that Ms. Kaling is about to take a loss on the apartment, having bought it for $3.1 million in 2017.
