Strivers Plaza, 275 West 140th Street Strivers Plaza, 275 West 140th Street
Strivers Plaza is an eight-story affordable housing building at 275 West 140th Street in central Harlem. The housing lottery for their 53 new units is officially open and accepting applications. Aufgang Architects designed the project which features a laundry room, community room, intercom system, rooftop terrace, bike storage, and 24-hour on-site maintenance. The building will also hold an 8,000 square-foot supermarket on the ground level as well as a 500 square-foot community facility.
Strivers Plaza takes its name from the nearby historic homes of Striver’s Row. Developed by Radson Development, the building offers applicants the choice of a studio, one-, or two-bedroom apartment. Rent for these units range from $494/month for a studio, to $2,405/month for a two-bedroom. Applications for Strivers Plaza will be accepted through September 23, 2016. 50% of the units are reserved for local residents already living in Manhattan Community Board 10. There are also strict income restrictions regarding this building; for more details on lottery qualifications and how to apply, visit this 6sqft post.
