The Equity Project (TEP) Charter School in Inwood is in the process of building a brand new permanent campus facility at 153 Sherman Avenue near Academy Street. Currently, the school is operating out of 30 red classroom trailers on the George Washington High School campus on Audubon Avenue, between 192nd and 193rd Streets. The West Side Federation for Senior and Supportive Housing (WSFSSH) and Procida Construction Corporation are partnering with TEP to develop the $37 million project which will hold 480 middle school students from 5th to 8th grade.

Plans for the 7-story building indicate a 62,000 square foot structure with a gymnasium, locker rooms, family room, social work suite, 16 classrooms, music rooms, a wellness room, two outdoor terraces, and a rooftop play yard. Many companies and organizations have invested in the project including Capital One, The Community Builders, and LISC who are thrilled to be giving TEP’s students the facilities they deserve. The school will be completed in 2018, in time for the 2018-2019 school year. Evans Heintges Architects is designing.
