The firm then tapped BG Studio International and SLCE Architects as architects for the conversion to 493 rental apartments. In 2011, UDR acquired the mixed-use building for $260.8 million. The building features white piers and bronze-colored windows, and is distinguished by an impressive 8-step-up staircase in front flanked by beautiful sloping lawns. Situated on a pedestrian-friendly street near Battery Park, the building stands in close proximity to British Memorial Garden and the many convenient transportation options that downtown Manhattan offers.
