Historic 1914 landmark on West 42nd Street with ornate façade converting to 176 residences. Features include a fitness center, golf simulator, lounge, and outdoor terrace with affordable housing options.
The Candler Building, a 24-story skyscraper at 220 West 42nd Street, was developed as an office building by Coca-Cola founder Asa G. Candler. At 315 feet tall, it was Manhattan's tallest building above 24th Street when it was completed in 1914, and continues to stand out for its ornately decorated façade and arched windows.
In 2025, developer Yellowstone Real Estate Investments filed permits to convert it to residential use. It will contain 176 studio to two-bedroom units, 44 of which have been designated affordable, and amenities will include a fitness center, a golf simulator, a lounge, and an outdoor terrace.
