121 Madison Avenue, built in 1883, was a pioneering 12-story apartment building designed by architects Philip G. Hubert and James W. Pirrson in collaboration with Jared Flagg. The building featured innovative duplex apartments and was part of the early Home Club movement, but it faced criticism for its exterior design and use of materials.
