Overview of 125 East 63rd Street

125 East 63rd Street is a nine story, 32 apartment pre-war cooperative built in 1923 just east of Park Avenue. Former residents include film producer Samuel Goldwyn. The red brick mid-block building has masonry banding on its lower two stories, four horizontal band courses, an arched entrance and sidewalk landscaping.

Many homes retain classic six planning, with formal foyers, separate entertaining and bedroom areas, wood burning fireplaces and ceilings of roughly 9.5 feet. Formal dining rooms and former staff rooms often allow for libraries, offices or additional bedrooms. Southern exposures overlook East 63rd Street and the skyline, while rear rooms face townhouse gardens and treetops; windowed kitchens and baths, in-unit laundry and through wall or central air also recur.

The building has a full time doorman, a live-in resident manager, common laundry, resident storage and a landscaped roof terrace. Pets and pied-à-terre ownership are permitted.

Central Park is several blocks west, and the Lexington Avenue 63rd Street station, served by the F and Q trains, is at the eastern end of the block. The neighboring Beaux Arts townhouse at 123 East 63rd Street was designed by Trowbridge & Livingston in 1900, while the Third Church of Christ, Scientist at Park Avenue was completed in 1924 to designs by Delano & Aldrich.

Sales History

Price/Room (Est)

Why are we displaying the estimated price per room?

For some co-ops, instead of price per square foot, we use an estimate of the number of rooms for each sold apartment to chart price changes over time. This is because many co-op listings do not include square footage information, and this makes it challenging to calculate accurate square-foot averages.

By displaying the price per estimated room count, we are able to provide a more reliable and consistent metric for comparing sales in the building. While we hope that this gives you a clearer sense of price trends in the building, all data should be independently verified. All data provided are only estimates and should not be used to make any purchase or sale decision.
