800 Union Street is a six story, 28 unit rental building in Park Slope, converted from a former parking garage and opened as a residential property in 2017. Its most distinctive feature is the façade, which combines pale orange brick and projecting window bays with dark spandrels, a black metallic upper section, and arched windows at the setback level.
The conversion was developed by Midwood Investment & Development and Meltzer Associates LLC, with architectural design by Christian Zambrano of Silbertekture. The composition incorporates strong horizontal bands at the entrance and middle floors, along with varied dark panels that give the building a layered street presence.
Resident amenities include an attended lobby and doorman, a landscaped roof deck with a barbecue grill, fire pit lounge, and outdoor showers, as well as a fitness center, children’s playroom, billiards lounge, party room with warming kitchen, and lounge space. Storage bins, bicycle and stroller storage, on site parking, and a pet spa provide additional services.
Apartment layouts range from one bedroom homes with dens and open kitchens to larger residences with home offices, terraces, and multiple bedrooms. A penthouse duplex organizes its living space across two levels, while other apartments include expansive living rooms, breakfast bars, and pass through kitchens. Northern and eastern exposures are also represented among the residences.
