This attractive beige-brick apartment building was erected in 1927 and converted to a cooperative in 1970. The 17-story building has 94 apartments and features decorative elements on its façade, with a convenient location near Riverside Park and Broadway.
670 West End Avenue is a 17 story, 106 unit pre-war co-op completed in 1927 and designed by George and Edward Blum. The beige brick building has a side street entrance with wrought iron doors, decorative window sills, and arches framing pairs of windows near the top floor; it became a cooperative around 1970.
Many apartments preserve the Blums’ formal planning, with entry galleries, separate bedroom wings, high beamed ceilings, hardwood floors, decorative fireplaces, and dining rooms that may be adapted as offices or additional bedrooms. Classic five and six room layouts recur, often with windowed kitchens and multiple exposures. The top floor penthouse was assembled from three original penthouses, creating four exposures and a long wrap terrace along the principal living spaces.
The building has a 24 hour doorman, live-in superintendent, resident storage, bicycle storage, laundry facilities, a playroom, and a restored lobby. A landscaped roof deck includes a communal herb garden, and pets are permitted.
Riverside Park is one block west, while Broadway’s shops and services are one block east. The 96th Street station at Broadway serves the 1, 2, and 3 trains.

For some co-ops, instead of price per square foot, we use an estimate of the number of rooms for each sold apartment to chart price changes over time. This is because many co-op listings do not include square footage information, and this makes it challenging to calculate accurate square-foot averages.
By displaying the price per estimated room count, we are able to provide a more reliable and consistent metric for comparing sales in the building. While we hope that this gives you a clearer sense of price trends in the building, all data should be independently verified. All data provided are only estimates and should not be used to make any purchase or sale decision.
