This handsome, 6-story, two-building apartment complex at 64 Bayard Street across from McCarren Park in Williamsburg was erected in 2013 and has 53 rental units.

It was built by 64 Bayard LLC and designed by Formativ, whose other projects include a very handsome townhouse on West 103rd Street with a duplex library with a lovely spiral staircase, and a very handsome cantilevered rear addition to a townhouse on West 87th Street.

Bottom Line

A simple but very attractive gray box with an overhang with rental apartments across the street from McCarren Park in Williamsburg.

Description

A modern, mid-block, low-rise gray building with a cantilever with corner windows over an adjacent building.

The building has a partial setback above the 5th floor and it jiggers its fenestration pattern a bit with some sophistication and recesses a small section of its rear façade.

The building has an entrance marquee.

The complex has a garage, a bicycle storage and roof decks and is pet-friendly.

Apartments

Apartments have triple-paned, floor-to-ceiling windows, white oak flooring, ceilings of 9 to 10 feet, Bosch washers and dryers, Fisher & Paykel refrigerators and Kitchen-Aid ranges with oak upper kitchen cabinetry and matter black lower kitchen cabinetry.

Penthouse J is a two-bedroom unit with an open kitchen with a breakfast bar and a large terrace.

Penthouse B is a one-bedroom unit with 700 square feet with an entry foyer, an open kitchen with a breakfast bar.
