Wythe Lane Townhouses is a collection of six five story single family homes completed in 2015 by KUB Capital in Williamsburg, Brooklyn. Designed by KUB Design and SZ Projects (headed by Silvia Zofio) with landscape architecture by Future Green, the development takes a modern approach to the traditional European mews concept. The townhouses are accessed through a private, landscaped lane rather than directly from the street, with secondary entrances on South 4th Street and private garage access. Each home is clad in distinctive water struck coal fired brick manufactured by Danish artisan Petersen Tegl, combined with gunmetal gray stainless steel and exposed board formed concrete, all punctuated by verdant trellises.
Each townhouse spans approximately 3,800 to 4,454 square feet across five levels and includes four bedrooms, three full bathrooms, and two powder rooms. The homes feature 10 to 12 foot ceilings throughout, with seven inch wide plank white oak floors in a custom fumed chocolate finish. Board formed concrete ceilings reveal the grain of the wooden planks used to shape them, a deliberate reference to Williamsburg's industrial heritage. The solid architectural concrete construction provides exceptional sound attenuation between floors and from exterior noise, a rare feature in townhome construction.
The layout is consistent across units: a below grade media room with double height 12 foot ceilings and adjacent garage parking with EV charger hookup; a first floor with open kitchen featuring Sub-Zero and Wolf appliances flowing into a private garden with built in gas grill; a second floor devoted entirely to a living room with a 52 inch gas fireplace with blackened steel mantel and custom fumed oak bench surround; and upper floors with bedrooms, including a top floor primary suite with spa like wet room, soaking tub, and walk in closet. Each home includes a roof deck with panoramic views of Manhattan and the Williamsburg Bridge, shaded by planted trellises with mature wisteria designed by Future Green Studio. The development is located adjacent to Domino Park and is zoned for PS84, with an HOA covering communal landscaping, property management, and maintenance ranging from $350 to $995 monthly.
