This handsome, 21-story, mid-block apartment building at 302 East 96th Street between Second and First Avenues was designed by Karl Fischer for WWNL96 LLC, of which Eric Brody is a partner.

The building, which is known as Vitre, has 48 condominium apartments and was scheduled for completion in 2018.

Bottom Line

This attractive, modern, mid-block condo building close to an entrance to the FDR Drive is part of a significant upgrading of this East Harlem/Carnegie Hill neighborhood and very close to the new Second Avenue subway station at 96th Street.

Description

The building has a 15-story base with a two-story-high lobby.  The top six stories are setback and have balconies.

Amenities

The building has a 24-hour attended lobby, a residents’ lounge with sundeck patio, a roof deck, bicycle storage, a garage and concierge services by Hello Alfred.

Apartments

Apartments have some ceilings up to 9 feet 8 inches, floor-to-ceiling windows, smoked European white oak floors and kitchens with wire-brushed oak paneling with white lacquer upper cabinetry and Carrara marble slab backsplashes, Bertrazzoni cooktops and ovens and Bloomberg refrigerators.  Some units have Marvel under-counter wine storage and some have kitchen islands.

Penthouse 5 is a three-bedroom, duplex unit with 2,290 square feet of interior space and 757 square feet of outdoor space, a 16-foot-long entry hall that leads to a 24-foot-wide living/dining room with an open and windowed, 17-foot-wide kitchen with an island and a 13-foot-wide balcony.  The master bedroom and a second bedroom share a 25-foot-long balcony and the unit has a private roof terrace.;

Penthouse 3N is a two-bedroom unit with 1,096 square feet of interior space and 80 square feet of outdoor space with a 17-foot-long living/dining room with a 13-foot-wide balcony and a 15-foot-wide open kitchen with a breakfast bar.

Penthouse 3S is a two-bedroom unit with 1055 square feet of interior space and 140 square feet of outdoor space with a 14-foot-wide living/dining room with an open 10-foot-wide kitchen and a 15-foot-wide balcony.
