Diamond on Duane is a mid-block, residential loft condominium building at 137-141 Duane Street and 62-66 Thomas Street in TriBeCa.  

Part of the building dates to 1863 and part to 1915.  It was converted to a 19-unit condominium, most with exceptionally large spaces, in 2007 by The Lesler Group. 


BOTTOM LINE

The Diamond on Duane  Building is in the heart of TriBeCa and has large apartments and good public transportation. 


DESCRIPTION

Diamond on Duane has a narrow facade with broad windows and an arched cornice line  on Duane Street with its lower two stories painted cast-iron and its top three stories dark masonry.  The much broader facade on Thomas Street is painted white and has arched windows on the second, fourth and sixth floor with thin columns between the windows. On Thomas Street, its ground floor retail space is occupied by Megu, one of the city’s most famous Japanese restaurants. 

The building’s lobby has a Foscarani glass chandelier.


AMENITIES

The building has a roof deck, private storage, a laundry room, a superintendent, a voice intercom and a private keyed elevator entrance on Thomas Street. 


APARTMENTS

Apartments at Diamond on Duane have some very large spaces, high ceilings and wide plank wood floors. 

Kitchens have Miele appliances and a Sub-Zero refrigerator and wine coolers.  Bathrooms have Phillipe Stark Duravit wall-mounted toilets and Porcelanosa tile walls. 

Apartment 2D has an open kitchen and a loft space that is 64 feet by 19 feet. 

Apartment 4E has a 23-foot entry foyer that opens one a 49-foot-by-30-foot main space with an open kitchen. 

Apartment 3B has a  large living/dining area with an large open kitchen, three bedrooms and a 16-foot-long library. 

Apartment 3A has a 23-foot-wide entry foyer that opens onto a 52-foot by 49-foot living/dining/kitchen area.  It also has three bedrooms and a very large family room. 

The penthouse has a gas fireplace in the 50-foot-long living room with open kitchen that opens onto a 20-foot-long dining room.  The apartment has five bedrooms, a media room, and one very large terrace and two small terraces.


HISTORY

Parts of the Diamond on Duane building date to 1863 and 1915.  

It was acquired in 2000 by Paul Khakshouri and a rooftop penthouse was added in 2004.  

It was converted in 2007.
