This 22-story building and its neighbor, the 32-story Liberty Luxe Building, were designed by Ehrenkrantz Eckstut & Kuhn and developed by Milstein Properties as part of the Liberty Luxe/Green development in Battery Park City. The buildings, completed in 2011, feature various green technologies and amenities, including a fuel cell, photovoltaic cells, and a blackwater system, and are designed to achieve LEED Gold certification standards.
Liberty Green is a 22 story condominium building at 300 North End Avenue in Battery Park City, completed in 2011 by developer Milstein Properties. Designed by Ehrenkrantz Eckstut & Kuhn, it stands alongside its sister building, the 32 story Liberty Luxe at 200 North End Avenue. Together, they represent the last condominium buildings erected in Battery Park City. Notably, architect Stan Eckstut designed the master plan and design guidelines for Battery Park City itself alongside Alexander Cooper. The building contains 191 residential units and achieved LEED Gold certification through extensive sustainable design features.
The building's green infrastructure includes a fuel cell that converts natural gas to electricity and hot water without emissions, photovoltaic trellises that generate 5 percent of the building's energy, and a planted roof that provides insulation and stormwater management. A blackwater system collects and reuses water for toilet flushing and cooling towers, while occupancy sensors and daylight dimming reduce energy consumption throughout common areas. The western façades present an orderly appearance toward the residential avenue, while the eastern façades facing the city feature bold projections and larger architectural expressions.
Apartments feature bamboo floors and cabinets, marble countertops, stainless steel appliances, Kohler fixtures, and bathrooms with glass showers and soaking tubs. Some units include Simena limestone floors. Units range from 619 square foot studios to 1,182 square foot two bedrooms. The building shares a large community center with Liberty Luxe that includes a swimming pool, basketball court, and classrooms, with access to a ball field between the two towers.
Resident amenities include 24 hour doorman and concierge service, a roof deck, fitness center with complimentary classes, children's playroom, private screening room, billiards room, two massage therapy rooms, valet services, and an on-site garage. The building offers panoramic views of both the city and Hudson River from its Battery Park City location.
