Liberty Luxe is a 32 story condominium building at 200 North End Avenue in Battery Park City, completed in 2011 as part of the Liberty Luxe/Green development. Designed by Ehrenkrantz Eckstut & Kuhn and developed by Milstein Properties, the building contains 280 residential units and stands alongside its 22 story sister building, Liberty Green, which has 191 apartments. Together, they represent the last condominium buildings erected in Battery Park City. Notably, architect Stan Eckstut, along with Alexander Cooper, designed the original master plan and design guidelines for the entire 92 acre Battery Park City development.
The building achieved LEED Gold certification through numerous sustainable features, including a fuel cell that converts natural gas to electricity and hot water without emissions, photovoltaic trellises that generate 5 percent of the building's energy, a planted roof for insulation and stormwater management, and a blackwater system that recycles water for toilet flushing and cooling towers. The design features orderly western façades facing the residential avenue, while the eastern façades facing the city incorporate large scale projections and bolder architectural expressions.
Apartments typically feature Viking stainless steel appliances, marble countertops, bamboo floors and cabinetry, in-unit washer/dryers, and deluxe bathrooms with double vanities, soaking tubs, and separate glass showers. Units range from 804 square feet one bedrooms to 2,125 square feet four bedrooms, with many offering floor-to-ceiling windows and views of the Hudson River, Statue of Liberty, and Tribeca. Select apartments include private terraces and oversized walk-in closets. The building is pet friendly and located directly across from Whole Foods, SoulCycle, and Brookfield Place, with convenient access to the World Trade Center and Fulton Transit Hub.
Residents enjoy full service amenities including a 24 hour doorman and concierge, a roof deck, swimming pool, fitness center with complimentary classes such as yoga and Zumba, private screening room, billiards room, and massage therapy rooms. The base of the building houses a large community center shared with Liberty Green, featuring a swimming pool, basketball court, classrooms, and access to a ball field. Former residents include Kris Humphries, the Brooklyn Nets forward.
