The Centra is a 9 story, 108 unit post-war condominium at West 89th Street and Columbus Avenue, completed in 1985. Designed by David Roth for Geloda Briarwood and Vincent Riso, its restrained exterior gives little indication of the landscaped courtyard garden inside, which faces half of the residences.
Apartment layouts commonly pair open kitchens with combined living and dining rooms, and several larger plans allow a separate dining area to become a third bedroom. Many apartments have in-unit washers and dryers and walk-in closets, while their exposures bring courtyard, city, or tree top views. The penthouse is organized along a private south and west facing terrace, with every room oriented toward it.

The courtyard is joined by a fitness center with sauna, a residents' lounge with a lending library and ping pong table, a children's playroom, and a roof deck with Hudson River views. An on-site garage connects directly to the building, and resident storage, a bike room, shared laundry facilities, and pet friendly rules round out the services.
Central Park is one block east, near the Reservoir and tennis courts. The B and C trains stop at 86th Street and Central Park West, while the 1 stops at 86th Street and Broadway; the American Museum of Natural History, Trader Joe's, and Whole Foods are also close to the building.
