Overview of Westbury House at 160 West 86th Street

Westbury House is a 20 story, 35 unit condominium at 160 West 86th Street on the Upper West Side, completed in 1988. Broad floor through and full floor homes form a central part of the residential plan, and several have private or semiprivate landings.

The red brick mid-block façade combines Postmodern design with Art Deco references. A two story limestone entrance surround, limestone pilasters and decorative air conditioner grilles establish strong vertical lines, while numerous bay windows give the street wall a varied profile.

Larger residences commonly have nine foot ceilings, oversized windows, north and south exposures, separate bedroom and entertaining wings, and private south facing balconies. The full 14th floor spans roughly 3,950 square feet, with a south facing living and dining area more than 35 feet long set apart from the northern bedroom wing.

The building has a 24 hour doorman, resident manager, full time superintendent, fitness center, bike and luggage storage, and a garden courtyard with an outdoor play area. Pets are permitted. Central Park is just over one long block east, while Riverside Park lies west beyond Broadway and West End Avenue. The B and C trains stop at 86th Street and Central Park West, and the 1 train stops at 86th Street and Broadway.
